Considering Betta's originally lived in rice paddies in small puddles of water anything is a upgrade. I am against the small Betta habitats they sell at the store and have a gallon tank all for my Betta. I've heard varying opinions on the size of their tank, and I think its up to you and what you are comfortable with.
