The week feeders were the worst mistake I ever made. None of my fish died, thank God for my mom checking on them. the reason they were so bad was the fact they didn’t dissolve, first off. secondly, the colored the water a nasty neon color. so i had to do a full water change and tank cleaning. so in short, week feeders are not worth what you pay.

p.s. today i about crapped my pants, during the water change one Betta fell into another’s tank. talk about a scare.

With spring here my fish has been very active. He is swimming up and down and all around! I finally got around to giving him a bit of egg for a treat.

Make sure its a pretty small piece, like a piece from the side of the pan when you scramble some eggs. I put it on tweezers and fed it to him. He really enjoyed it. So if you want to try it, make sure the eggs are unseasoned and its a small piece or they will chock.

Well, this week has been hectic. so I haven’t had much time to write…. This week I went to the store look for something to feed my fish for an entire week, while I’m gone for spring break. so i picked up these 7 day feeders fore bettas. they have bloodworms and various other goodies in there, I’m gonna try them this week. I’ll report back how they worked.

As I had mentioned in my earlier posts, I have three male Betta’s. Daniqua, James, and Liam. Not to pick favorites, but i really have a strange connection with my red Betta, James. He’s my oldest Betta and my strangest.

I think our connection started when I first bought him, I bought him at a walmart and nursed him back to health. we have gone through some rough times, the worst was when i dropped him out of the net. when i was changing his water, he jumped out! Me being the most nervous person on earth, had a panic attack. I thought I killed my fish. After the tears, I got on the computer and found out that it was a normal thing, and that he would live. After this I grew very close to James, even buying him special foods and other stuff.

Really what prompted me to write about him was the fact that he’s so dang cute! I just changed his water about and hour ago and he has showed me his gratitude by swimming around and acting nuts for the last 45 minutes, I know this won’t really mean anything to you all, but I’M BETTA CRAZY!

Well I’m happy to report that the bacteria bloom in my tank has settled down. I did another water change today and the water is all clear. So it seems the drops I bought have worked.

I purchased a treat for my Betta. It was suggested that occasionally you give your Betta a bit of a different type of food as a treat. My first betta ate strictly betta bits, he didn’t like the blood worms. Now my second Betta won’t eat the bits but eats the worms. So I bought freeze dried baby shrimp. I dropped one in the other day and boy did he go wild! So as a treat I’ll give him only like a couple a week.

Also I’ve hear to cook a smidgen of a white of a egg and they like that too, but I haven’t tried it yet. So all those people who say fish don’t have personality I’m here to say they do. Here’s a pic of maxi. I know its not great I’ll try to get a better one.

I’ve been having a bit of bacteria bloom going on in my tank currently. I tried a water change of 20%, but it didn’t do much. I also purchased some of the clearing drops they sell in the store. Because of my past experience with bloom, I didn’t want a repeat, so I’m super careful. So after much research I added the drops. Most sites say it won’t help but will mask the problem. However I found that it helped the floating items sink to the bottom and the fish and tank look much better. Of course I’m keeping a strict eye on it. I’ll keep ya posted.
